The word, as the central axle of communication, has in Vigo a preferential space, where you have virtually arrived: Verbum – Casa das Palabras Museum, placed in an exceptional outline of our city, at Samil beach. The word is the base of this project on museums, of this interactive space about all fields related to human communication, designed as a cultural and recreational space in which any visitor who approaches will be able to take part actively in the exhibited components. The museum also offers a wide planning of complementary activities focused on general public. All this information can be consulted at our website to be updated. The offer includes audio-visual projections, workshops, lectures, musical performances, interactive activities with new technologies and teller histories, among others.
The interaction is one of the basic aspects of words; it is also one of the most important characteristics of this museum. But as a cosy space of multiple words, Verbum also wants to be a meeting and spreading point of the different manifestations of our culture, as it is the case of the Galician-Portuguese inmaterial heritage, working on it at present. When we talk about the expansion and the enrichment of our heritage, we cannot omit the well-known poet Xosé María Álvarez Blázquez, tributed to this year at Letras Galegas 2008 Day. He developed in Vigo a quite important part of his archaeological work and also wrote many lovely verses:
